It’s been a while since my last update, so thought I would touch base on how my preparations are going for my next race Challenge

Training in the Alps

Copenhagen on August 14th

As you know my last race was mid June in China. After spending a few extra days in China, I returned back to Denmark to start my 8 week scheduled raining block.

Right now I am 5 weeks in at the moment preparing for Challenge Copenhagen. Things couldn’t be going better. My fitness is definitely where it should be or better. Going into this block, I wanted to make sure my training was about quality not quantity. Coach and I spoke about the areas the needed improvement from my earlier races, and what goals I wanted to achieve later in the year. I have a big second half of the year planned so this block needs to be the foundations I rely on later.

So far I can not find any faults with my training results. My swimming times are continuing to improve from last year, both in the pool and open water. I’ve got some much needed kms on the bike. And with a new frame it was important I feel strong and confident with the new set-up. And my running has been really solid so nothing to complain about!!

Here at my base in Denmark we have a medium size training group including fellow National Team Members. Some of which are also competing in Challenge Copenhagen, including Martin Jensen, our coach Michael Kruger and Esben Hovgaard. This means every day training is intense and we can push each other to our limits.
